第59回國際東方學者會議--佛典翻譯論考

這幾年開始從翻譯的立場，反省佛經的現貌，有時會問自己，如果我不懂漢語，遠度沙漠，冒著九死一生的危險，來到沒有佛法的漢地。我應該先翻譯最簡單的？還是先翻譯最重要的？還是翻譯(或者「剪裁」)一份當地最容易接受的「說帖」？還是不該翻譯，要求漢地的學佛者學習梵語？

身為譯者，我對這個議題頗感興趣：

Is a Bad Translation Better Than No Translation?

「差勁的翻譯」好過「不譯」嗎？
